Trust me, it's worth the trip. Wander through the new galleries, grab a bite in curATE Cafe's expanded outdoor eating area, and take in those views. 

SVAC's recent expansion is the largest single museum expansion in Vermont's history—a milestone worth celebrating for an organization that has been a cornerstone of arts and culture here for decades. The new Yester House addition includes fresh gallery space and the Hunter Terrace, a stunning outdoor space that's about to host one of the biggest nights on SVAC's calendar. And they're not done growing. Not even close!

Mark your calendars—or, well, admire from afar, because it's already sold out—for September 12, when SVAC hosts its Beaux Arts Fête on the Hunter Terrace. This is the organization's signature fundraising gala, and this year it comes with some serious star power. Vermont native and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Grace Potter will receive SVAC's Naylor & Breen Vermont Luminary Award, honoring her extraordinary career and her deep, ongoing commitment to Vermont's creative community. Alongside her, celebrated photographer and Sandgate resident Dona Ann McAdams will receive the 2026 Kimball Artist Award, recognizing decades of work documenting performance, activism, and community life with rare depth and honesty. Her exhibition, Troubleshooting: Making Photographs with Dona Ann McAdams, is on view at SVAC through January 3, 2027 as the inaugural show in the new Van Degna Gallery—well worth a visit even if you can't make it to the gala itself.
